Ahead of the 2023 North American Auto Show in Detroit, Ford has made some significant changes to the F-150, including new technology and design. A powerful 5.0-liter Coyote V8 is standard on the F-150 XL, and a 2.7-liter EcoBoost is now the standard engine on both STX and XLT trims. The popular pickup truck now has a maximum payload of 1113.5 kg and a maximum towing capacity of 6123.5 kg.
The 2024 Ford F-150's exterior has been redesigned to provide a modern appearance while maintaining recognition. The Black Appearance Package, one of the most popular options, is now offered on models ranging from STX to Lariat. Meanwhile, the Platinum Series will feature blacked-out interior and exterior accents from the factory.
A convenient new feature for 2024 for the Pro Power Onboard generator is an updated digital interface that will help customers monitor available power through either the SYNC 4 screen or the FordPass app.
Other technologies for the 2024 F-150 pickup include Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist to help with towing. The available Smart Hitch system, exclusive to the 2024 Ford F-150, senses hitch weight to reduce the likelihood of trailer sway when towing. Combined with on-board scales, this helps estimate the appropriate payload weight in real time.
In terms of an enhanced digital experience, SYNC 4 with a 12-inch touchscreen is now standard across the lineup and complements the standard 12-inch cluster screen behind the steering wheel. For the first time, the F-150 will feature a head-up display. Both the head-up display and instrument panel feature customizable views for Ford BlueCruise, Tow/Haul and Off-Road driving modes. 2024 F-150 buyers will also get Ford BlueCruise 1.2 with hands-free lane change assist. Finally, Ford is adding a 5G LTE modem for over-the-air connectivity and updates.
The new F-150 XL starts at $35,570, while the F-150 Raptor R continues to top out at $111,550. Yes, the assembly and pricing configurator is already available.
