The Ford F-150 Raptor R debuted for the 2023 model year to much excitement. All the V8 power in Ford's off-road-focused pickup was clearly aimed at fighting the rival Ram 1500 TRX. A reworked version of the supercharged 5.2L V8 Predator used in the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 produced 700 hp. and 868 Nm. At the same time, the version for the GT500 has 760 hp. and 847 Nm, which gives room for an upgrade to the Raptor R, which will happen in the next model year.
The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R boasts 720 hp. and 867 Nm of torque, which is 20 horsepower more than the previous model. Ford says the jump was achieved through "reduced intake air loss combined with optimized calibration, resulting in a broader torque curve." Remarkably, this gives the Ford Raptor R more power than the Hemi Hellcat-powered TRX's 700 hp.
However, this is not the only update that the 2024 F-150 Raptor R will receive. Like the regular Ford Raptor, the Extreme version of the truck features a new modular bumper with accessory options, an additional light bar, standard forged tow hooks, a wide blacked-out grille, new headlights, new Shelter Green paint, new graphics and a larger power hood. In addition, new Fox adaptive shock absorbers with dual valves are installed. Prices for the 2024 Ford Raptor R start at $111,550.
