The US Patent Office has published an application filed by several FCA, Stellantis and Ram developers from Michigan. The patent is called "Removable jump seat for a vehicle" and contains several drawings with folding third-row seats.
Folding seats are attached to the rear wall of the passenger compartment behind the second row. Additionally, the patent application shows that the seats slide out independently of each other. Another image also shows the seats positioned on the tailgate - ideal for camping or hiking.
Insiders are speculating how the jump seat will fit into upcoming Ram models. For example, the Ram 1500 Revolution EV concept unveiled last year also featured reclining rear seats.
