The Return of the Ram 1500 TRX: The Powerful V8 Is Back!

The Ram 1500 TRX will return in 2026 with an updated V8, according to Mopar Insiders. The new engine could be more powerful than the previous one, possibly using the 797-horsepower unit from the Dodge Hellcat Redeye. The revival of the TRX is due to the fact that after the V8 left the 1500 line, many were expecting it to return, and Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis fueled the rumors.
The Ram 1500 lineup was updated for 2025, replacing the V8 with the Hurricane inline-six. In place of the TRX, there was an RHO version with 540 hp. If that's not enough for you, like many muscle truck fans, the new TRX is expected to bring back the Supercharged V8 with more power.
Along with the TRX, other V8 versions of the Ram 1500 may also return, including the 5.7- and 6.4-liter Hemi. Expect more details and official confirmation of the specs soon.
