Toyota Tundra: the only full-size pickup that never offered a diesel engine

Toyota has built a reputation for reliability, including diesel engines for Land Cruisers. Despite this, the Toyota Tundra never offered a diesel engine option. For the new Toyota Tundra 2022, a gasoline engine with a "diesel" flat torque curve is created using amazing technology.
Toyota claims to have achieved a "diesel" flat torque curve with a hybrid version of its twin-turbo V6. According to MotorTrend, the automaker succeeded. The result rivals the efficiency and power of small turbodiesels used in light pickups.
The automaker has ditched the old truck's sole powertrain, a naturally aspirated V8, in favor of a new twin-turbocharged V6. Every 2022 Toyota Tundra has received one of three levels of this engine: from 348 hp in SR trim and up to 437 horses in TRD Pro and Capstone.
